Project Delfi was inspired by the ancient theatre of Delfi.
It is a football pitch measuring 68×105 meters, with a capacity of 20,000 spectators, embedded at the hillside of the mountain in such a way that all the spectator will afford a view of the city in the background.
The inclination of the grandstands and of the roof imitates the inclination of the ground itself, so that the structure won’t be visible from a passer-by walking barely a few meters beside the pitch.
The distribution of the internal spaces is rather unconventional when compared to other pitches.
Climbing different levels, the spectator initially sees the entrance, onward passing under the street, past the parking space, reaching the athletic space to arrive at the grandstands.
